These homes may take advantage of one of many ways of reducing environmental impact (low VOC paint, solar panels, wind energy, geothermal, passive solar design, recycled or reused materials, materials made from sustainable, renewable resources such as bamboo )
Energy Star, a joint program of the EPA and the U.S. Department of Energy, helps us all save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices.
NH recently passed a $6,000 rebate for solar energy good till 2011. These projects are eligible for a rebate of $3 per watt, with a maximum rebate of $6,000 or 50% of the construction costs, whichever is less. It is anticipated that the funding for the program will be available beginning July 2009.
